Gamelan

More Music has created a unique and formidable scrap gamelan.  Using the traditional gamelan concept, we have created a 21st century, environmentally friendly gamelan made from recycled objects including the drum of a washing machine, old teapots and more.

Bring the gamelan to your school or event or commission us to build your own. You can even have one built outdoors. 

Chinese New Year

A positive outcome of  the 2004 Morecambe Bay cockling tragedy has been the development of work with the local Chinese community , an exploration of Chinese cultur and the acquisition of a fabulous selection of Chinese instruments, a Chinese dragon and a palette of songs, stories and rhythms, all available to share with schools and community groups across the county.

Chinese Percussion Workshops

An exciting percussion workshop based around the rhythms of the Lion and Dragon Dance using traditional Tangu drums and gongs. Suitable for KS1 and above.

Traditional Chinese Music Performances 

A 3-5 piece performing group with traditional instruments, Chinese songs and call and response.  Suitable from KS1 upwards and up to 100 children at a time.

Dragon Dancing and Drumming

Take part in this thrilling workshop combining four elements – the dragon dance, the drumming, the pearl and the gongs.  Learn a dance, rhythms and the importance of the pearl.  Suitable from KS2 upwards.

Traditional Chinese Instrument Tuition

For the instrumentalists in school, why not offer the opportunity to learn a Chinese instrument using the skills already developed. Some beautiful sounds and amazing results.   KS2 upwards.

Chinese Songs

Celebrate China with beautiful Chinese songs including love songs, lullabies and children’s songs. Suitable for KS1 and above.
