The Hothouse
More Music is based at The Hothouse on Devonshire Road in Morecambe. The Hothouse is in the heart of the West End of Morecambe and is a musical community centre used by hundreds of people every week for a variety of music sessions. It is also the home for More Music with offices, a studio, rehearsals rooms and storage. In 2011, the building was extensively refurbished and now features a upstairs venue with a bar and performance space that can hold up to 220 people.
The upstairs was originally a music hall and then a snooker hall (The Dev) since the 1930’s. The downstairs was a paint factory and home to a decorating firm before becoming shops and then a home for More Music in 1996.
For the last 12 years the Hothouse has been an iconic symbol of the power of music in the community used by people of all ages and backgrounds for regular sessions, one off meetings, courses and small performances.
