The Chinese Ensemble is a regular Sunday afternoon music making session at the Hothouse, using real chinese instruments. The session is run with the Lancaster and Morecambe Bay Chinese Association during term time from 1pm until 2.30pm.  It's free to all ages and open to complete beginners.

 We have teaching sessions each week where you can learn either Ruan (moon guitar), Erhu (violin) or Dizi (flute) in a small group.  More experienced musicians can join the existing ensemble at 12pm. Once a month, the whole group gets together to form our new Chinese Community Orchestra.

There are also opportunties to perform in public throughout the year, including events to mark the Chinese New Year.
